Data deletion instructions

This page tells you how to delete the data that Darbase holds about you. It covers the data that Darbase receives from Facebook, WhatsApp and Instagram. It also covers all other data in a Darbase workspace.

Who this page is for

  • You connected a Facebook, WhatsApp or Instagram account to a Darbase workspace.
  • You sent a message to a business that uses Darbase.

Remove Darbase's access to your Meta accounts

Do these steps to stop Darbase from reading or sending messages for your accounts.

  1. Log in to Facebook with the account that you used to connect Darbase.
  2. Go to Settings and privacy, then Settings, then Business integrations.
  3. Find Darbase in the list and select Remove.

This stops access from now on. It does not delete the data that Darbase already holds. To delete that data, do the steps in the next section.

Ask us to delete your workspace data

  1. Send an email to hello@darbase.com from the email address of your Darbase account.
  2. Write "Data deletion request" in the subject. Write the name of your workspace in the message.
  3. We check that the request comes from the owner of the workspace.
  4. We close the workspace. Then we delete its data: contacts, conversations, messages, attachments, and the connection keys for your Facebook, WhatsApp and Instagram accounts.
  5. We send you an email when the deletion is complete.

After we close the workspace, there is a grace period before the deletion. During the grace period, you can ask us for a copy of your data. You can also ask us to cancel the deletion. After the grace period, the deletion is permanent.

We keep a small set of records after the deletion: the invoices and payments between you and Darbase, your acceptance of our terms, the consent records for messages that were already sent, the audit log of actions in the workspace, and a record that shows that the deletion happened.

If you sent a message to a business that uses Darbase

The business decides how it uses your messages. Darbase stores them for the business. To delete your data, contact that business directly. The owner of the workspace can permanently erase your messages in Darbase.

If you cannot reach the business, email hello@darbase.com. We send your request to the business.
